Convert US grades to UK
From US (0–4.0 GPA) to UK (Percentage). Instant, free, calculated in your browser.
US students applying to UK universities translate their 4.0 GPA into the UK percentage and degree-classification system.
How the US → UK conversion works
Every MyCollab conversion runs through a single 0–1 normalized score so the math stays consistent across all nine systems.
On the US 4.0 GPA scale, the normalized score is gpa ÷ 4.0, so 4.0 maps to 1.0 and 1.0 to 0.25.
To express the normalized score on the UK percentage scale, MyCollab multiplies by 100 and reports the corresponding classification (First, 2:1, 2:2, Third, Pass).
Worked example: a 3.7 on the US (0–4.0 GPA) scale normalizes to 0.93. On the UK (Percentage) scale, 0.93 corresponds to 92.5% (First Class (1st)).
Worked example
3.7 (US) → 92.5% (UK)
Normalized score: 0.93 · First Class (1st)
